THE PURPOSE

Room to explore. Depth to build.

Subject exploration, academic depth and confidence before the application begins, with six- and twelve-month options.

WHEN IT MAY FIT

A good conversation
to have if…

  • The student wants to explore a subject beyond the school syllabus.
  • Developing subject depth and academic confidence is the main priority.
  • There is time to develop before the application, with the appropriate duration still to be agreed.

WHAT THE WORK CENTRES ON

A clearer sense
of the programme.

Find an academic focus

Begin from what interests the student and identify the questions within a subject that they want to explore more seriously.

Develop depth

The programme’s focus is subject exploration and academic development before the application. Discuss suitable reading, ideas and ways of approaching unfamiliar material.

Build confidence over time

Use the preparation period to become more comfortable explaining ideas and reflecting on what the student is learning.

THE AIM

Preparation with substance behind it.

The aim is a more developed academic interest and greater confidence with the subject. The programme should make sense for the student’s development, as well as the time available before applying.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Does this feel like
the right place to begin?

Tell us what the student is considering. We can discuss whether this programme fits their needs and the time available.
