THE PURPOSE

Make room for unfamiliar ideas.

Focused preparation for thinking through unfamiliar ideas in an academic conversation.

WHEN IT MAY FIT

A good conversation
to have if…

  • Academic interview preparation is the immediate priority.
  • The student wants practice explaining and developing their reasoning aloud.
  • You are looking for focused preparation rather than a whole-application programme.

WHAT THE WORK CENTRES ON

A clearer sense
of the programme.

Explain the reasoning

Practise making a line of thought clear, including the assumptions behind it and the points that need further investigation.

Work with unfamiliar ideas

Prepare for the experience of exploring a question in conversation, where a useful response may involve developing or revising an initial thought.

Prepare authentically

The aim is to become more comfortable thinking aloud and engaging with an academic discussion, rather than relying on a polished script.

THE AIM

More purposeful practice in conversation.

This programme is focused on academic interview preparation. A finder result does not imply that the student has received, or will receive, an interview invitation.
